Open Science Conference "Global Change in Mountain Regions"

Durante el 1 y el 5 de octubre se estará desarrollando la Conferencia de la Ciencia: Cambios globales en regiones de montaña.

Esta conferencia será la primera oportunidad para los científicos y los encargados del ecosistema que se refieren a impactos globales del cambio en regiones de montaña para oír resultados, intercambiar información, y discutir las actividades comunes al futuro.

A conference for:



  • All researchers (physical, biological and social scientists, self-identified
    as "mountain" or not) who can contribute to
    1) analysis and dissemination of
    the results of past and ongoing research on global change in mountain regions;
    and
    2) preparation of an integrative research strategy for mountain regions
    that will effectively address the challenges of the 21st Century.



  • Those managers and scientists interested in and responsible for Mountain
    Biosphere Reserves (MBRs), to develop a strategy for implementing global change
    research in MBRs around the world.


Expected outcomes:



  • communication of new results between scientists and researchers working in
    the mountains of both industrialised and developing countries around the world



  • a framework for long-term research on global change that can be implemented
    in Mountain Biosphere Reserves and other mountain locations in both
    industrialised and developing countries.
