Job Opportunity General Manager, Peru Opportunity Fund

Wednesday, 27 May, 2015 - 15:36
An initiative of the Hampshire Foundation (a US 501(c)3), Peru Opportunity Fund focuses exclusively on sustainable agriculture for rural Peruvian farmers. In the past four years, Peru Opportunity Fund (POF) has increased the productivity and knowledge of smallholder farmers through grants, revolving loans and partnerships with established social investment funds, financial institutions, NGOs, and producer groups.

In order to reach a greater number of beneficiaries with sustainable impact, POF’s board would like to embark on a market-based approach that would develop & support social enterprises designed to improve smallholder farmers’ livelihoods. POF has carried out extensive research in different agricultural value chains in order to identify market gaps or deficiencies that affect smallholder farmers. Equally, a number of market based solutions to address these deficits have been identified. Through a combination of grants, loans and investments, POF will support existing organisations that have a proven model for economic uplift of smallholder farmers. As well, POF will initiate and fund its own market-based initiatives to create value for farmers and their supply and distribution chains.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, and supported by a local team, the General Manager will help shape and execute the strategy of Peru Opportunity Fund. This role is suited for a hands-on, energetic and business-minded individual determined to strengthen the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. Candidates with logistics/supply chain experience are encouraged to apply.
