Government of NepalMinistry of Science, Technology and Environment (MoSTE) and KIRDARC Nepal is jointly going to organize “National Conference on Climate Change and Environmental Threats: Protecting Lives and Livelihoods of Mountain people” in October 30-31, 2014 at Rara Lake, Mugu District of Nepal.

The conference aims to build understanding on the intensity of impacts of climate change and disasters in mountain regions of Nepal, its adverse effects in the bio-cultural diversity, livelihood and challenges. The Conference will also help to develop the harmonious relation between people and environment across the mountains and regions that save our people, mountains and lead us towards sustainable development. Moreover it will also provide an opportunity for stakeholders across the country to come together on a common platform to deliberate mountain issues and to arrive at a common solution to resolve the needs and concerns of the mountain regions.

KIRDARC Nepal is advocating since long to protect and promote the rights of mountain people through different conferences with wider engagement of various state and non-state actors.

With this background, KIRDARC Nepal would like to join hands with Mountain Forum to connect globally in order to advocate and address local issues and agendas of Mountain people and share/disseminate global knowledge at local level. Therefore, KIRDARC Nepal would like to request for the value-based partnership with Mountain Forum. We would be thankful if you provide us its membership.  We would like to request for your support to widely disseminate  the conference information  within your  constituency  and help to protect and promote the rights of Mountain people in coming days.
