Adjuntamos información sobre el Premio del Agua de Estocolmo organizado por la Fundación del Agua de Estocolmo. La fecha límite de inscripción es el 30 de setiembre del 2004.

El Premio de Agua de Estocolmo fue creado en 1990 para incrementar el entendimiento, el respeto por el agua y al mismo tiempo estimular y premiar esfuerzos pioneros en su manejo y tratamiento. El Rey Carl XVI Gustaf presenta anualmente el premio en una ceremonia durante la Semana del Agua en Estocolmo. A los ganadores, se les otorga 150.000 dólares y una escultura en cristal. Se pueden enviar investigaciones de campo o prácticas en ciencias naturales, ingeniería, economía, salud y agua, manejo del agua, manejo de zonas costeras, humedales, ecología acuática, entre otros.
Este premio ha sido entregado a representantes de Australia, Canadá, Dinamarca, Reino Unido, India, Israel, Japón, Sudáfrica, Suiza, Estados Unidos y Venezuela.

How to Nominate


The Stockholm Water Foundation is pleased to invite nominations from around
the world for the 2005 Stockholm Water Prize. The Stockholm Water Prize is
presented annually to an individual, institution or organisation for outstanding
water-related activities. The activities can be within the fields of aid,
awareness building and education, engineering, management or science.


Any activity or actor which contributes broadly to the availability,
conservation and protection of the world’s water resources, and to improved
water conditions which contribute to the health of the planet’s inhabitants and
ecosystems, is eligible to be nominated. The Stockholm Water Prize enjoys Royal
Patronage and includes a USD 150,000 award and a crystal Orrefors
sculpture.


2005 Stockholm Water Prize Announcement


The 2005 Stockholm Water Prize Laureate will be announced in
close connection with the United Nations World Water Day on March 22, 2005. The
Laureate receives the Prize at a Royal Ceremony in the Stockholm City Hall in
August 2005.
