Páramo Andino Proyect: Hidrology Workshop Report

The workshop Aims and Goals were:
To define a realistic set of research objectives for the Paramo Andino Project (PPA) regarding the hydrological function of paramo ecosystems:
1. To develop predictions on the impact of land use change on catchment hydrology (discharge and variations in discharge)
2. To assess the long term impacts of land use (causes and processes involved) and possibilities for mitigation of such impacts on catchment discharge.
3. To identify research methodologies and techniques, as well as the collection of relevant parameters (hydrological/climatological) that allow for cost-efficient prediction and assessment of land use and paramo hydrology within the scope of the PPA-project.
