El Centro Internacional de la Papa (CIP) está buscando a un profesional con formación en Adminstración o Ingeniería para cubrir la plaza de Gerente Administrativo
El candidato que asuma esta posición desarrollará metas y estrategias para la división, liderará un equipo de aministradores y asegurará la efectividad y eficiencia de los servicios administrativos. También velará por la utilización de adecuados marcos de trabajo para la toma de decisiones .

Administration Manager

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a professional with a degree in business administration or engineering to lead its administration services. The candidate should be committed to exercising leadership in a cooperative environment for supporting CIP’s research programs. CIP seeks diversity and gender balance in its staff. The Center: CIP is a not-for-profit international agricultural research organization with a global mandate to conduct research on genetic resources of potatoes, sweetpotatoes, and other Andean roots and tubers, crop genetic enhancement and improvement, integrated crop management and sustainable management of natural resources and urban agriculture. CIP’s vision is to contribute from its areas of expertise to the fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in particular those goals that relate to poverty, hunger, child and maternal mortality, and sustainable development in rural and urban systems. CIP has its headquarters in Lima, Peru with staff and activities in locations across Africa, Asia and Latin America. CIP is a member of the Alliance of the CGIAR Centers, a network of 15 research centers mostly located in the developing world and supported by more than 60 donor members.

The Department: CIP has over 30 years of experience producing research outputs and generating knowledge for dissemination worldwide. The Administration Department provides a wide range of administrative services such as maintenance of all related equipment and instruments, building maintenance, transport and vehicle services, security, procurement and travel services, by implementing sound management practices and developing effective planning and execution.

The Position: CIP seeks a successful professional to head its Administration Department, lead the administration team, and ensure the delivery of effective and efficient administrative services. The Administration Manager will assure that an appropriate framework is in place for informed decision making, and support the Director of Finance and Administration in developing and managing a risk management framework, including the development and review of management strategies, and improved processes.

The successful candidate will have:

• A Masters degree in Business Administration or engineering.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience as a senior professional, with at least 5 years demonstrated management experience in administration functions.
• Strong knowledge of planning and budgeting, and strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated success in managing people and coordinating activities in multicultural environments.
• Competency in communication and interpersonal skills, including extensive ability to build and promote teamwork, build consensus and resolve complex situations.
• Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.

Conditions: The Administration Manager is a local position. Employment conditions include an attractive remuneration package, including health care.
