CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FROM LEAD INSTITUTIONS

ANALYSIS OF RIVER BASIN WATER PRODUCTIVITY

AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO POVERTY

‘Basin Focal Projects"

The CGIAR Challenge Program on Water and Food invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) to lead ‘Basin Focal Projects’ (BFPs) in one or more of the following river basins: Nile; Limpopo; Indus-Ganges; Niger, Yellow and the Andean system of basins. We seek highly qualified institutions able to assemble teams that can demonstrate:

  • experience in several of the technical and methodological fields required;

  • experience in the river basin for which BFP leadership is proposed;

  • proven ability to form effective teams in a short time scale;

  • proven ability to complete projects on time, and

  • proven ability to innovate and to integrate their work with other scientific teams.

Institutions can apply to lead projects in more than one basin, but must submit separate EOIs for each, identifying the team members within each EOI. Personnel from any institution, including those represented in the CPWF Consortium Steering Committee, may compete and be awarded multiple contracts as part of this call. Personnel from any institutions leading or participating in the BFPs already contracted are eligible to compete in this call and be awarded multiple contracts. Personnel from any institutions who are current members of the CPWF ‘community of practice’ through leading or participating in any projects that are currently supported as part of the CPWF, are eligible to compete and be awarded multiple contracts. Personnel from any institution that currently does not undertake research awarded through any contracting mechanism, are eligible to compete and be awarded multiple contracts
