The IMS has successfully reached the finish line
The 7th edition of the Mountain Experience Festival Kiku. International Mountain Summit (IMS) has successfully reached the finish line. 7.700 visitors and 90 journalists have accepted the invitation of the organizers and have experienced unique mountain moments.
The focus was on an encounter with mountain, mountain people and mountain soul, the inner mountain.
"Wood is lighter", this reply of the hut keeper and carpenter Alfred Stoll, regarding the question how much psychologist you have to be as a hut keeper – this was one of the main topics during the opening evening.
The IMS 2015 was under the sign of the inner mountain, of the topic motivation and goal setting. The handbiker and former mountain guide Felix Brunner was enthusing with his positive attitude more than 600 students during school presentations. The climbing legend Stefan Glowacz outlined to a high-profile entrepreneur audience with his presentation “adventure enterprise” the similarities between mountains and economy.
The wide-ranging mountain experiences at the IMS started with the film evening Streif, a school show in Bolzano with the Slackline legend Andy Lewis up to the Mining World Villanders.
To see how a korean blogger was crying for the music of the accordion world-champion Stefan Oberhofer during the IMS Walk Day at the Geisler Alm and to receive as feedback from a professional speaker like Joey Kelly that he gives very seldom a presentation in such a positive atmosphere and under such professional circumstances gives the IMS team a lot of motivation” stated the two organizers Markus Gaiser and Alex Ploner happily when referring to this years’ edition of the IMS.
Two particular highlights of the IMS week were the presentation of the photobook „Atem der Berge“ and the award ceremony of IMS Photo Contest by DJI. It’s exactly thanks to the Photo Contest that the Mountain Festival is able to show its internationality. The challenge of the following years is to empower and enlarge it.
Next year the IMS will take place from October 10th to 16th. Thereby the mountain region South Tyrol and the town Brixen/Bressanone will be honored to host the general assembly of the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation UIAA. Representatives of all mountaineering associations will discuss about the future of mountain sport, the protection of the mountains and the development of mountaineering.
