Hiking the Lebanon Mountain Trail
Lebanon Mountain Trail Association (LMTA) is organizing the eighth edition of its annual month-long walk to promote the importance of food heritage. The 470-km walk comprises one team walking from Andqet in North Lebanon to Marjaayoun in the south of the country and another team walking from Marjaayoun to Adnqet.
Organized as an annual hiking event, the Thru-Walk gathers hikers from around the world to showcase the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Lebanon’s mountains. This year the long distance walk aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting food heritage, to support rural economies in the trailside communities and to promote responsible tourism as a viable economic activity.
The 30-day Thru-Walk will include a launch event introducing hikers to the objectives of LMTA and daily hike plans covering all 27 sections of the LMT. Hikers can join the entire 30-day walk or choose to join for a few days.
