The registration for the 2014 Global Landscapes Forum is now open
Held on 6-7 December, the 2014 Global Landscapes Forum, http://www.landscapes.org/ will bring together 1500 participants, including experts from all land-use sectors and climate change negotiators. They will discuss the potential of landscapes approaches for achieving climate goals and sustainable development goals.
Keynote speakers include COP20 President Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, Unilever CEO Paul Polman and WWF President Yolanda Kakabadse Navarro.
Members of COP20 delegations, Peruvian government officials and media can register for free.
Under the theme Sustainable Landscapes for a New Climate and Development Agenda, the Forum will foster a debate about the potential of landscapes approaches for achieving climate goals and sustainable development goals. By bringing together researchers and practitioners, foresters and farmers, businesspeople and activists, development workers and politicians – the conference will challenge them to overcome silo-thinking.
The more than 40 sessions http://www.landscapes.org/glf-2014/program/agenda/ will cover topics such as

The results and case studies presented by more than 60 organizations will show that landscapes approaches are more than the latest fad in development cooperation.
They offer valid concepts and tools to tackle such interdependent global problems in a participatory manner.
The Global Landscapes Forum is co-hosted by Peru's Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Agriculture, and coordinated by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
